It's a Wonderful Life Art Exhibition
“It’s a Wonderful Life”, a “call for entries” show presented by Franklin County Historical Society at the Old Jail, will be held January 27 – February 24, 2018. “It’s a Wonderful Life” might inspire you to paint something wonderful in your life, whether personal, a landscape, or something you’re grateful for – a person, a thing – whatever! The Historical Society wants to make this a show that will appeal to everyone!
Deadline for entry forms will be Tuesday Jan. 23, and entries will be delivered Thursday Jan. 25 10am-4pm and Friday Jan. 26, 10 AM-2 pm. A reception will be held Sunday, February 4, 2-4 pm, and the show will be open Thurs., Fri. and Sat. from 10 AM – 4 pm. Call 717-264-1667 for more details.
"Race Relations During the 20th Century in Franklin County" with speaker Bernard Ruffin
Author and historian Bernard Ruffin will speak at the Old Jail. Bernard resides in Reston, Virginia, and is a pastor and taught high school history for 25 years. He co-authored "Some Chambersburg Roots: A Black Perspective". This event is free and open to the public.
