March 19, 2025
Franklin County Historical Society is eager to receive your local history papers for publication in upcoming journals. For publication in 2025, please contact us with your project by June 1. Partially completed works may be held for a future year. The members of the Publication Committee will work with you such that the final product shall be as comprehensive and as well-referenced with end notes as possible. There can only be one publication for each article, no second editions. Essays should be no more than 30 typed, double-spaced pages (12,000) words) including endnotes; shorter works are welcomed. Electronic submissions are encouraged in WORD format with graphics digitized. All papers should include a cover letter with author’s home and email addresses, and phone number.
Please consider your family stories, as well as stories of events and places, yet stay around Franklin County, which remains our mission. Ideas ought to reflect some general interest to our Franklin County readership. Remember that history begins yesterday and you may be the primary source for recent stories. Every time a building is torn down, or a person dies, stories die as well.
Topics to consider: Politics | Culture | Science | Education | People | Religion
Sue Burkey, Dave Smith and myself will review your ideas and articles submitted. We are supported by a talented staff. We shall all commit ourselves to the welfare of your ideas through final publication.
